FOR JESUS WAS HIS NAME
I wrote this hymn in 1999 saved it to a floppy disc a forgot all about it
1, In a manger he was born
In poverty he came
But rich was he beyond compare
For Jesus was his name.
2, He came to bring the word of God
To heal the sick and lame,
For many did believe in him,
For Jesus was his name.
3, For some men believed him not,
They thought they’d cause him pain,
So they put him to death upon a cross,
For Jesus was his name.
4, He died upon a lonely hill
On a cross of shame
And in his death he did forgive
For Jesus was his name.
5, For Jesus is the Son of God
And he can never die
He rose again and went to heaven
Where he was glorified.
6, For Jesus is our saviour
Jesus is our Lord
He’ll come again in glory
And take us to his abode. (repeat) 1999
