My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous;
There are many things listed in the Bible as being of the sinful nature,
all sin is an offence against God. However there are behaviours which a Christian may consider offensive to God which the state through its laws does not consider illegal activity. Paul writes that whilst all things may be permissible it does not mean they are right or good for us. If you look in a shop window and you see something you like and you want it and that want becomes overpowering that is what we call lust, it is a form of covetness and therefore it is an offence against God. There are many things that fall into this category and the Christian has to be constantly on their guard that they may not be tempted by covetness and lustful intentions. Ever since the fall in the garden of Eden we have had the right to choose how to behave but there are consequences to every action we take and depending on how we choose and what we choose we will either be rewarded or we will be punished. The state may punish you if you break the law and you may be imprisoned but if you are punished by God at the end of days because of how you have chosen to behave throughout your life there is no reprieve. So I ask consider what do you do so that you may not feel God’s wrath.
