Here I am Lord, send me

I’ve been considering words from Isaiah

Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts.

Then flew one of the seraphims unto me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar:

And he laid it upon my mouth, and said, Lo, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin purged.

Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.

My dear friends is this not a powerful piece of scripture. How many of us have had the experience of Isaiah. I am just an ordinary man I have had no learning at any higher institute of academia. I am just like all of you struggling to make ones way through life. Asking myself those great questions, who am I, why am I here, what am I meant to do, how do I do it. These are the same questions that the Prophet Isaiah had before he became a Prophet, in truth we are not that different we all experience the same things. We all have the same needs, the same dreams, the same hopes the same desires and God knows them all. Have we experienced the hot coal on our mouths. It’s an awesome experience truly it is. Isaiah hears the voice of the Lord saying who shall I send of all these people to do my will and Isaiah says here I am Lord send me. My dear friends if you feel the hand on the shoulder and if you hear the voice of the Lord saying whom shall I send ,if you truly hear it and truly feel it then there’s only one thing you can say ” here I am Lord send me”.

  1. Amen! A convincing argument. And of course, the first requisite for a preacher is to have his tongue sanctified for the Master’s use, I guess! Thanks James.
