There is little doubt that we are living in a Post-Christendom age. New age religous practices are becoming the fad, but I want to stand up for Christ, the risen saviour of all humankind. I am reading some passages from the letter to the Hebrews.
My call tonight is for all Christian people persevere with the faith though you may be forced to endure great hardship. I would remind you of what it says in the letter to the Hebrews.
” Therefore, my friends since we have confidence to enter the sanctuary by the blood of Jesus by the new and living way he opened for us through the curtain and since we have a great high priest over the house of God, let us approach with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast to the confession of hope without wavering, for he who has promised is faithful and let us consider how to provoke one another to love and good deeds not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see to day approaching”.
My dear friends in an age when it is so easy to hide away in the darkness I urge you to take heart and be couragous in standing up for Christ for he will always stand up for you. Whatever trials and tribulations are forced upon us let us bare them joyfully. As Christ is our light in a dark world so must we imitate the light that we may lead others to the light of Christ. Walking along a darkened path is never easy but if we have the light of Christ in our hearts then the dark path will be as light as day.
Finally I say be of good chear and remember he is with us always even to the end of the age.
